Missoni is best known for its zig-zagged, multi-colored patterns and knits that have captivated the fashion world for decades. The Missoni name remains one of the most iconic brands in fashion and now extends to the home furnishing world.

Missoni’s humble beginnings can be traced back to 1953 to the city of Gallarate in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. It was here that newly married Rosita and Ottavio Missoni opened a small knitwear operation in their home. Over the next five years the Missonis would gain a loyal following in the Italian fashion scene in Milan and welcome three children into the world: Vittorio, Luca and Angela. All three would later rise to prominence in the Missoni family business. 1958 was particularly fortuitous for the Missonis as it was the year their daughter Angela was born and the year the Missoni label first appeared in Italian department store La Rinascente.

Today, the Missoni name is known throughout the fashion and home furnishings world and the family story is legendary. In 2013, veteran retailer Roxane Mosleh proudly opened Missoni Home Hamptons, the US flagship store for the Missoni Home furnishings collection, on historic Jobs lane in Southampton. The home furnishing collection was masterminded by none other than Rosita Missoni herself as an extension of the world famous brand hand-crafted by her and her husband.
